These terms govern your use of the OpenGenus website (iq.opengenus.org) and any paid product or service you purchase from us, including the AI Engineering Course. By purchasing or using our services you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
OpenGenus is an educational publisher producing computer-science and AI engineering content, books and courses. Contact: team@opengenus.org.
2. What you are buying
Depending on the tier you choose, your purchase may include access to digital course material, a code toolkit, review of your work, 1:1 mentoring sessions, a certificate on passing an assessment, and guided research or authoring support. The specific inclusions are those listed on the course page for your tier at the time of purchase.
3. Access and delivery
Access is delivered electronically to the email address you provide, normally within 24 hours of a confirmed payment. It is your responsibility to give a working email address and to keep your account credentials private.
4. Licence and acceptable use
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the material for your own learning. You may not share, resell, republish, upload, mirror or redistribute the course content, books, or code toolkit, in whole or in part, nor use them to train a commercial model or to run a competing course. Accounts found sharing paid content may be terminated without refund.
5. Your own work
Work you create during the course (projects, code, papers) is yours. Where we help you publish — for example a paper on arXiv or an article on OpenGenus — you keep authorship, and you grant us permission to host, display and promote that work. Nothing here transfers ownership of your work to us.
6. What we do not promise
We provide education, not outcomes. We do not guarantee a job, an interview, a salary increase, acceptance of any paper by any venue, or any specific result. Mentoring and reviews are opinions offered in good faith by practising engineers.
7. Scheduling of 1:1 services
Mentoring and review sessions are scheduled by mutual agreement. Sessions missed without reasonable notice may be treated as delivered. Time-bound inclusions (for example "3 months of mentoring") run from the date access is granted.
8. Payment, currency and taxes
Prices are shown in US dollars unless stated otherwise and may change at any time; the price you paid is the price that applies to your purchase. Payments are handled by our third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record, which collects and remits applicable sales tax, VAT or GST. Your purchase is also subject to that provider's terms.
9. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Community conduct
Our community spaces require basic professional respect. Harassment, spam, plagiarism, and sharing of paid material are grounds for removal without refund.
11. Content changes
The curriculum is updated as the field moves. We may add, revise or retire modules; where you have lifetime access, it applies to the course as it evolves, not to a frozen version.
12. Availability
We aim to keep everything online but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may perform maintenance or change hosting providers.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your purchase is limited to the amount you paid us for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost opportunities.
14. Privacy
We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
15. Termination
You may stop using the services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, in particular clause 4 (licence and acceptable use).
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India shall have jurisdiction, without affecting any statutory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the "last updated" date above will change. Material changes will not be applied retroactively to purchases already made.
